In today’s episode, I’m talking about wholesale—specifically, how to find wholesale products and find them legitimately. I get a lot of messages from people asking about wholesale and saying that they haven’t been able to make a success of it, but what strikes me about all these people is that they quit too early. So first up today, I discuss the need for hard work and perseverance because you’re not going to knock it out of the park on the first try. You have to be willing to put the effort in and try everything—and if you really have, and it’s still not working, you can come talk to me, and we’ll work things out.
Moving on, I debunk some of the myths surrounding wholesaling on Amazon, including the idea that it’s better to start with products instead of distributors and manufacturers, and that you should go after big brands. Then I share with you the best ways to find wholesalers, like looking at a product’s retail packaging to find details of their distributor and manufacturer, going to trade show websites, or signing up for industry newsletters and trade publications. I also talk about common excuses people use for giving up on wholesaling, like being rejected by vendors who don’t work with Amazon or believing wholesale is too expensive or competitive. Finally, I wrap things up with some advice about the importance of doing your research in order to have the best chance of success at wholesaling.
